Welcome to CartNap ("we", "us", "our"), an Android application developed by Claudio Pellegrino. CartNap helps you practice mindful consumption by giving your shopping impulses a "nap" — a reflection period before you decide whether to buy or save.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using CartNap, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

What we do NOT collect: CartNap does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location data, contacts, photos, or any personally identifiable information beyond what is described above. There is currently no account registration or login functionality in the app — you use CartNap as a guest user.
When you share a product link with CartNap, the app accesses the publicly available webpage at that URL to extract product metadata (title, price, image). This is a one-time read of publicly available information and no login credentials or personal data from those websites are accessed or stored.
We use the collected information for the following purposes:

All your product data, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using an encrypted Room database and Android SharedPreferences. As a guest user, your data does not leave your device for storage purposes.
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including secure local database storage and encrypted network connections (HTTPS) for any data transmitted to third-party services. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Android's built-in backup system may include CartNap's local database and preferences in device backups. You can manage this through your device's backup settings. Temporary files and cache data are excluded from backups.

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties beyond the services listed above, which are strictly necessary for the app's operation.
CartNap displays advertisements to non-Premium users through Google AdMob. Before serving personalized ads, we collect your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you will be presented with a consent dialog on first launch. You may choose to:
You can modify your consent preferences at any time through your device settings or by reinstalling the app. Premium subscribers do not see ads, and no advertising data is collected for them.
CartNap is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
Full local control: Since CartNap currently operates as a guest-only app with local storage, you have complete control over your data. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data permanently.
Your product data and preferences are retained on your device for as long as you use the app. You can delete individual products or all data at any time from within the app. Uninstalling CartNap removes all locally stored data.
Crash logs collected by Firebase Crashlytics are retained according to Google's data retention policies (typically 90 days).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's functionality or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
If we introduce account registration, cloud synchronization, or other features that materially change how your data is handled, we will update this policy accordingly and notify you within the app.
